TubiTunes 1.0 Reviewed
There’s been a lot of buzz over the new TubiTunes 1.0 release. In case you’re unaware this is a program that allows you to download from places such as Youtube and then convert the media to iTunes / iPod / iPhone format. I gave it a test run and must say if there’s a Youtube vid you can’t live without this is a pretty cool new tool. Check it out if that’s your thing.
O2 Service Provider Signs Deal With Napster
iTunes is no longer your only option for media on your iPhone (not counting torrents), at least if you are in the UK or Ireland and being handled by O2. They recently signed a deal with Napster to allow their customers access to file sharing with another company on top of Apple’s iTunes.
iPhone Launched In Austria And Ireland
The official iPhone launch for Austria and Ireland took place on Friday. Making these the 5th and 6th countries, respectively, to offer Apple’s iPhone with full support and service. Austria is being handled by T-Mobile, while Ireland, like the UK, is being handled by O2.
iTunes Excluding Items When Searching
Since its been a pain trying to find music that’s NOT in iTunes and excluding iPhoto Library I looked it up for y’all. One of the nicest things about this is you don’t automatically add this media to your iTunes library when you find it.
“It’s not completely beyond OS X. Just open the Spotlight system preference, click the Privacy tab, navigate to your user folder in the Finder, and drag the folders or items you’d like to exclude into the Privacy window—in your case the iTunes folder and iPhoto Library package. When you next conduct a Spotlight or Finder search, you’ll find all items except those within the iTunes folder and iPhoto Library.”

Exploding iPod Nano Starts Fire
Reports are coming in of an iPod nano that started a fire. It appears it self combusted and erupted in flames. It created a foot wide fire before it was discovered and extinguished. The weird part is it was simply sitting there. Recall to come?
Beatles Coming To iTunes
Now I know most of you already probably use Torrent Services to get your iPod and iPhone media but McCartney is now saying the Beatles will be bringing their records direct to iTunes. This means yet another fish in the sea that is iTunes.
iPhone SDK Creates A Buzz For Game Developers
There have been a ton of people and companies waiting for the new iPhone SDK release, the latest is game developers.
The iPhone SDK has been called “the coolest thing in game development in 15 years, except maybe the nintendo wii,” and I agree. Mac game companies have the upper hand here, with the SDK being so similar to Apple computers, meaning it’s not about the money so much anymore, the little guys can start pumping out original titles now.
I’m very excited, its all about the wait now…
Apple And China Mobile Still Not Talking
The rumors flying around are false. Apple and China Mobile still have not restarted negotiations about the iPhone. It seems to me Apple is asking too much for what China Mobile is willing to give up and this will probably be a long term standoff unless one party greatly reduces their expectations. However I think it would be a good business move for both companies so it may come to light some day.
Making The iPhone Work For Businesses
It is only a rumor at this point, but Apple’s new SDK (scheduled for release March 6) is thought to open up the pass to a whole new class of iPhone. A business friendly model, with high security features and extreme connectivity. Thought I’d update you on this, it could mean a big boost in upcoming sales so stay tuned.
