Apple Back-to-School Promotion & New MacBook specs
Today, Apple launched it’s annual Back-to-School promotion for U.S. educational customers. This year’s sale, offers rebates on Apple’s full line of iPods, up to 9 (depending on which iPod you choose…) In any case, a purchase of any new mac qualifies as long as its not a Mac Mini. Rebate Amounts are as follows:
- iPod Touch - 9
- iPod Classic 120GB - 9
- iPod nano 16GB - 9
- iPod nano 8GB - 9
- iPod shuffle 4GB -
In order to qualify for the rebate, you must purchase the computer plus the iPod at the same time on the same receipt and purchases must be made through Apple or a qualifying Authorized Campus Store. The sale ends on September 8, 2009.
- Processor up to 2.13 Ghz from 2.0 Ghz
- Ram up to 800 Mhz from 667 Mhz
- Hard drive size increased to 160 GB from 120 GB
All while maintaining its price of 9. Yes, a modest bump, but one I’ll take regardless…So, if you’re on the fence on whether to go mac or not, now might be a good time, take advantages of these rebates and minor upgrade to the MacBook.

Review: PocketGuitar for iPhone
PocketGuitar, which mimics a guitar fretboard and provided various types of guitar sounds, takes the metaphor a little too literally. Because of the size of the iPhone’s screen, you can only access a few frets at a time, and you can’t slide up and down the fretboard gracefully. Guitar players will find this app frustrating.
