Apple has recently modified the hours of operation for their retail stores to accommodate for the consumer demand on the iPhone 3G. Now all Apple retail stores will open at 8 a.m. from Monday through Saturday until further notice.
Not only are they extending hours of operation, they are also changing some of their “line” policies so that once you get pre-qualified you will get a ticket that will allow you to pick up your iPhone 3G at your leisure that same day.
Yours truly can corroborate this story because on Friday, he was pre-qualified at the Apple store and then later told that he would have to wait in another line for the phone. A few minutes after being pre-qualified, he was told that the purchase had to be made at the AT&T store because there was a plan discount associated with the plan. Still rocky, but better than having to stand in a two hour line just to be re-routed to an AT&T store…So, in less than 2 weeks, I’ll have a shiny new iPhone 3G in my hands. More to come….

The iPhone has turned into a real circus sideshow but at least they are listening to what the consumers want.
