This was for Canadians who purchased a generation 1, 2, or 3 iPod before June 24, 2004. The lawsuit was based on the fact that the advertised battery life of 8 hours was in fact closer to 3 hours after frequent recharges. This same lawsuit filed in the US was settled earlier at a rate of $50 per customer. with 80,000 eligible Canadians at $45 a pop that comes out to 3.6 million, chump change for Apple.
