Impressive a medical search engine on your iPhone

iPhone News

MedTango.com has developped an iPhone version of their Medical Search Engine that is very impressive. It contains all the information that are in the web version of the web application, but totally adapted to the iPhone. Very good job from the team behind it.

Your iPhone is also automatically detected apparently, I guess the iPod Touch as well.

MedTango is also available on Android, I’ve just tested on my Google Nexus One, and it looks the same as on the iPhone.

If you want to have a look, here it is:

Monkey Island 2 Special Edition: Le Chuck’s Revenge Announced For iPhone

iPhone News

LucasArts has today made point-and-click gamers everywhere very happy by announcing Monkey Island 2 Special Edition: LeChuck’s Revenge for the iPhone/iPod touch this summer. This completely updated version of the classic game adds new gameplay features to expand on the successful The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition, such as even giving the player the option of directly controling hero Guybrush Threepwood and eschewing the traditional point-and-click controls. In-game audio commentary from the game’s creators has also been added, along with an art viewer which enables players to view glimpses of certain locations from the old game.

As you can tell from the comparison screenshots that LucasArts has released (although they’re not necessarily from the iPhone version), the graphics have been given a complete high-definition overhaul, to say the least! This is what LucasArts’ President Darrell Rodriguez had to say about the game:

“The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition really resonated with gamers young and old thanks to its classic storyline and updated gameplay features. We’re adding even more great new features in this sequel and can’t wait for classic Monkey Island fans and newcomers alike to experience perhaps the most beloved installment in the franchise ever.”

Aye Aye Capt’n!

iPhone Final Fantasy I and II Released, Square Enix Launches App Sale to Celebrate!

iPhone News

The day all Final Fantasy iPhone/iPod touch fans have been waiting for has finally come with the arrival of Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy II in the iTunes App Store! The games can now be downloaded from the App Store for €6.99/£5.49.

FF and FFII were originally released for the NES in Japan back in 1987 and 1988 respectively, and the new, updated iPhone versions feature graphics, sounds and controls that utilise the capabilities of the new host systems. Control systems for both games have been specifically developed for the iPhone and iPod touch interfaces, with the aim of making the touch-screen controls as intuitive as possible. Both games also feature extra dungeons that were not available in the original versions, enabling players to continue playing even after they’ve finished the main storyline.

To celebrate the release of the games, Square Enix is discounting the following five apps, but you’ll have to be quick as the offer only lasts from now until March 3rd:

Crystal Defenders
Usually €5.99, now €4.99

Vanguard Storm
Usually €3.99, now €2.99

Sliding Heroes
Usually €2.39, now €0.79

Hills and Rivers Remain

Usually €5.49, now €3.99

Song Summoner: The Unsung Heroes - Encore
Usually €7.99, now €5.99
