When atebits’ Tweetie entered the iPhone AppStore in Nov. 2008, it was well-received by iPhone owners because they liked it’s clean and easy to navigate iChat-like interface. Now with it’s latest release (ver. 1.2), tweetie adds a lot of new features to an already solid feature set.
Some of the new notable features in this build that I like are:
- Addition of the Popularity Enhancer (Fart sounds upon tweet swiping & Flashlight functionality)
- Capability to search for fellow twitterers around you (using the iPhone’s GPS)
- Ability to choose between chat bubbles or standard text interface
- Ability to change the tweet font size
- Image compression slider
- Instapaper integration
- and Landscape keyboard…just to name a few
If you want to see the comprehensive list of features, visit Tweetie at the iTunes AppStore. To see the application in action, watch my video review:
That should give you a pretty good impression of what the app is capable of. In my opinion, tweetie is both fast and powerful, however one thing I couldn’t figure out how to do was to add multiple friends in my tweets. If you have any suggestions or tips, please put them into my comments. Overall, a very good twitter application for an exceptional price: .99. Check it out in the AppStore.
